The joint venture between Dragonica and Shanghai-based I.C.E. Entertainment ceased operations this week and the one free-to-play online game it offered now belongs to Gravity Interactive.
The THQ*ICE website confirms that the joint venture is finished. The advisory message also explains what happened to: "As of August 31st 2010, North American operations of Dragonica Online on thqice.com is [sic] suspended. The service of Dragonica is being transitioned to another game publisher."
The website offers Dragonica Gold players instructions on what to do if they want to continue playing the game after its transition to Gravity Interactive, the new operators of Dragonica Online.
The new home for Dragonica Gold offers a welcome message to current users:
"WarpPortal is proud to announce that Dragonica Online will soon be added to our growing list of Free to Play games! Even better, all the THQ*Dragonica Gold ragonica character data will also be added to the WarpPortal, so if you played Dragonica Online previously you will be able to link your existing Dragonica Money game account with your Dragonica Money WarpPortal account!"
All other payment options WILL NOT BE AFFECTED in the meantime, and online payment options will be functional for those who wish to make cash shop purchases(Cheap Dragonica Gold). Singaporeans and Malaysians will be able to top up accounts via game-value cards (distributed by Epicsoft and 8interactive respectively)*.
